Holly

Breed: Argentine Criollo | Age: 18 | Height: 15.2hh | Color: Chestnut

Hi, I’m Holly, my registered (aka fancy) name is Solitaria, a nod to my Argentine roots and polo past. These days, I’m embracing a slower, sweeter, semi-retired life at AMP Stables & Boarding, where I’ve happily traded mallets for massages and goal posts for grooming brushes.

At 18 years old and 15.2 hands tall, I bring experience, patience, and a whole lot of heart to the barn. You might notice a couple of small indentations on my face, they are leftover souvenirs from a polo ball and mallet during my playing days. They don’t hurt anymore, and I wear them like the badges of honor they are.

I’m currently being gently rehabbed by the AMP team and our amazing volunteers as I manage kissing spine. While my competitive days are behind me, I’ve stepped into a new, equally important role, teaching young riders confidence, horsemanship, and compassion through our educational programs.

I’m known for my gentle spirit, deep love of ear rubs, and my calm, grounded presence with kids. Whether I’m standing quietly for grooming or serving as a patient demo horse, I’m proud to be part of something truly meaningful here.

Outside of work hours, you’ll usually find me enjoying a spa-quality roll in the dirt, napping under the Florida sun, parked in front of my stall fan like the diva I am, or shamelessly flirting with a certain tall, grey gelding named Sterling, who’s completely smitten with me.

I was adopted from our wonderful friends at Replay Polo, LLC, a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes retired polo ponies like me. They gave me my second chance, and AMP has given me a forever home.
