Riding Lessons
Where confidence, connection, and horsemanship come together.
At AMP Stables & Boarding, we believe riding is about more than just time in the saddle—it’s about building a partnership with your horse, developing strong foundational skills, and growing into a confident, capable equestrian.
Our riding lesson program is designed for all levels and ages, from first-time riders to those refining their technique. We offer both English and Western instruction in a safe, supportive, and structured environment led by two outstanding instructors:

Helmets are required (and available to borrow), and each lesson includes hands-on horse care to reinforce total horsemanship. Riders do not need to own a horse to participate, but are welcome to trailer in and work with their own horse during private lessons.
Melinda Pallen
Riding Instructor
Melinda is a dedicated equestrian instructor who brings passion, poise, and professional polish to riders of all ages. With a strong background in equitation, and confidence-building for both horse and rider, she designs lessons that emphasize safety, clarity, and steady progression.
Whether introducing beginners to the basics or guiding teens through advanced horsemanship, Melinda tailors each lesson to the rider’s individual goals. Her clear, supportive coaching style fosters not only technical skill but also trust and communication between horse and rider—helping students build both ability and confidence in the saddle.

Hessy Derman
Riding Instructor
Hessy Derman is a skilled hunter/jumper trainer with a strong foundation in lesson program development, kids program coordination, and horse sales.
At AMP Stables & Boarding, she provides personalized instruction for riders and horses of all levels, focusing on progress, confidence, and results both in and out of the ring. Known for her encouraging teaching style and thoughtful approach to rider-horse partnerships, Hessy helps students grow through clear guidance, consistent goals, and a passion for horsemanship.
