Hi, I’m Sterling, your tall, grey, mildly dramatic Thoroughbred heartthrob. I stand at 16.2 hands high and ignore many names: Sterling, Sterbs, The Sterbster, Grinch (both for my color after a good paddock roll and my occasional disposition), and occasionally Mr. Bitey Face. But around here, most just call me a barn favorite - especially when it’s time to jump.
 

I’m an all-around guy: English, Western, it doesn't matter to me, whatever saddle you throw my way, I make it look good. I especially love to jump and truly shine in the arena. Just don’t expect me to sparkle in the grooming aisle. I may be grey, but I have a deep appreciation for paddock rolls and consider my signature look to be “dusty white with mud undertones” (sometimes green—don’t judge, it’s a whole vibe).

While I’ve got a sassy streak, I have a serious soft spot for one very special mare - Holly. She’s got my full attention, and yes, I shamelessly follow her around like a schoolboy with a crush. It’s fine. We’re adorable.
 

I’m also proud to serve as one of AMP’s Equitation Club demo horses. Teaching is my jam. I stand patiently while kids learn to polo wrap, groom, braid, and explore basic horse anatomy. On special days, I even let them paint me. That’s right - non-toxic finger paint, full-body masterpieces. I’m basically a living art installation. You’re welcome.

Now, let’s talk boundaries. I love treats and will accept them with all the grace of a gentleman. But I’m also a big believer in my personal space - especially at my stall. No snacks? No problem. Just admire me from a respectful distance and we’ll be just fine.
