Horsemanship Experience Days are one-day educational programs created for kids ages 8 and up to explore the world of horses in a safe, hands-on, and enriching environment. Designed to align with school holidays, these sessions are ideal for homeschool, charter, public, and private school students looking for something meaningful and productive to do on their day off.
 

No riding experience or horse ownership is necessary, just a willingness to learn and get a little dusty!

Each Horsemanship Experience Day focuses on real-world skill-building, fostering confidence, responsibility, and critical thinking through a variety of age-appropriate, horse-centered activities.


Participants will:

  • Learn & Participate in Horse Care
    From cleaning stalls and scrubbing buckets to preparing hay and feed, kids participate in the daily chores that keep the barn running, learning the value of hard work and consistency.

  • Practice Grooming & Groundwork
    Students will groom, lead, and interact with horses using calm, respectful body language while developing communication and trust between human and horse.

  • Explore Horse Behavior & Safety
    Through discussions, demonstrations, and guided practice, participants learn how horses think, react, and communicate, and how to stay safe around them.

  • Engage in Educational Games & Challenges
    Activities reinforce concepts like horse anatomy, tack identification, nutrition, and health care, all through fun, interactive formats designed for different learning styles.

  • (Optional) Riding Time
    Weather permitting, students may have a short introductory ride or participate in a mounted activity. While riding is not the primary focus, it serves as a great confidence booster and opportunity for movement-based learning.
     

Horsemanship Experience Days will be offered on the following no-school days: 

  • Tuesday, September 23, 2025

  • Thursday, October 2, 2025 (in conjunction with regular Thursday's Equitation Club)

  • Tuesday, November 11, 2025

  • Monday, January 5, 2026

  • Monday, January 19, 2026

  • Monday, February 16, 2026

  • Wednesday, February 18, 2026

  • Friday, April 3, 2026

  • Monday, May 25, 2026

Program Hours: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Ages: 8 and up
Cost: $80 per session
Payment Method: Venmo and Zelle
